What will You Do?

The winter season for many of us in the northern states is quickly approaching.  It never seems to be a gradual progression. It’s hot one day then cold the next. For many of us, this drastic change in weather means a change in lifestyle.  When it was warm, we cherished those after dinner strolls or Saturday morning runs. But now that it’s quite nippy out, we run to our favorite spot on the sofa with a book or TV remote and a warm blanket.
We don’t mean to neglect our daily physical activity, but it’s soooo cold out and exercising in the house is just not happening. Let’s not forget that this is also the season of Holiday celebrations and festival fun.  If you combine that lack of physical activity and holiday grub, you have just welcomed a layer of winter weight. Well my friend, let’s be determined to not travel that path this winter. I declare this a season to be INTENTIONAL about your well-being!
Intention is everything!!!! Intentions are the best predictors of our actual behavior. If you don’t intend to do something you will do nothing. Intention is to do something on purpose. However, it doesn’t mean everything you intend to do will turn out the way you anticipated it. Everyone can live each day with the capacity to carry out their activities of daily living, but many of us will opt out of that by the lifestyle we choose. I don’t believe we intend to become overweight, stressed out, or lose the physical ability to walk up a few flights of stairs. Yet when we lack intention towards wellness, we lose our motivation to pursue life in its fullness. You must be intentional to even get in the vicinity of an expected outcome.

‘It doesn’t happen because you want it to (dream about it), you must be determined to lay it on the line. Performance and consistency are the products of clear EXPECTATION’.  - C. Loritts

What are your winter intentions?

Be Well Today
