Healthy Living 10

Author Tommy Boone in his book ‘The Power Within’ discussed some basic lessons of how to keep healthy.  I found this to be interesting and though they would benefit, so I am sharing them with you. My hope is that you will be able to incorporate the one’s you lack into your daily lifestyle habits. Remember this is a journey so avoid becoming frustrated if they are difficult to adapt to at the onset.

“You  must cultivate the will to be healthy and take your own well being to heart. Your life literally depends on your decision. But let us remember Rome wasn’t built in a day”. - Dr. Boone

  1. Develop a deep desire to live, which implies being healthy.  
  2. Within reason, choose how you want to live, eat, and work.
  3. Take a chance and get with the program even if there are no guarantees (i.e. guarantees to lose the weight in 40 days).
  4. Avoid being caught up in quick fix methods in magazines and newspapers.
  5. Acknowledge the importance of personal control and self discipline.
  6. Keep it simple, but do something.
  7. Believe in yourself and try hard to realize your dreams.    
  8. Do not let negative emotions deteriorate your state of mind.
  9. Be constructive, exercise critical thinking, and don’t worry.
  10.  Learn to be a friend to yourself.
